The No 1 Filmograph from Lancaster (English brand accustomed to use French names: "Le Merveilleux", "Invincible de Luxe", "Le Meritoire") uses the 2 1/4 " roll film type C. It is built with finely worked wood, only the bed is made of light metal (aluminum?).
The bellows is not self-erecting, a small handle helps to pull it out. Two columns with locking screws allow for the shift of the bellows. A perforated disc gives four apertures, Instant and bulb exposures are available.
The focusing is done by moving the front face of the bellows. On this one a metal pointer goes alongside a scaled index (unfortunately erased).
The winding button has a ratchet determining the direction of rotation.
The beauty and variety of the materials used are forming its seduction.
